He told Lacey to relax and be herself, but he also recognized her from two times before when they had met. Carter Family Being Sued By Their Own Lawyer So I was watching Celebrity Justice and they just previewed the next segment which is about the Carters.  Apparently, one of their lawyers is suing the family for money. And Bob and Jane are arguing that they don't live the glamorous lives people think they do and that they don't have "a pot to piss in." The lawyer said "that's not my problem." So he/she is suing them. Maybe they didn't pay their lawyer. Or maybe it's another case of someone trying to take advantage of them. Tonight on ET, our own JANN CARL sits down with Aaron for an exclusive interview! "She changed, and I think it has a lot to do with money," the 16-year-old singer tells Jann. "You tend to see that a lot in the [entertainment] industry, and it's a sad thing to see. And when it happens to my mother it's like, 'Whoa, hold on a second.'" In an official statement from Aaron's publicist last week, the younger brother of BACKSTREET BOY NICK CARTER stated, "I feel betrayed by my own mother," adding, "All these problems started when she booted my dad. I worked hard for months ... and I come home and owe money!" Jane Carter, together with Aaron's father ROBERT, had co-managed her son's career for the past decade. She was granted legal custody of Aaron in August 2003 after the couple separated and filed for divorce. Aaron has now moved in full-time with his father and is currently seeking new representation to co-manage his career with his dad. According to his statement, "certain financial discrepancies came to light in regards to the disappearance of significant funds of Aaron's" over the course of negotiating the division of assets in the current divorce proceedings. Sunday Dec.14thPRESS RELEASE (FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) New York, NY Jane Carter has been the phenomenal sole day-to-day manager of Aaron Carter since he was 7 years old.  In addition to being the mother of "The Little Prince of Pop," Jane Carter is also the mother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter.  Jane and her husband Robert Carter recently engaged Eliot Weisman and Premier Artists Services, Inc., to become the day-to-day manager of Aaron Carter. Sadly, Ms. Carter has announced that she has separated from her husband and seeks a divorce.  The couple has been living apart since August of 2003.  Ms. Carter has filed an amended counter petition for the dissolution of marriage in Court.  Ms. Carter, as part of her petition, declares that Robert Carter wrongfully dissipated assets.  Through her petition she is formally seeking an accounting be ordered by the Court in order to determine the scope, nature, and exact amount of funds dissipated by Robert Carter and prior to and since the divorce has been filed.  Additionally, Ms. Carter states that Robert Carter has wrongfully withheld physical custody of Aaron.  Ms. Carter has legal custody of Aaron granted by the Court.  Robert Carter is breaking an Order against domestic violence and legal custody issued by that Court.  That Court gave legal custody of Aaron to Ms. Carter.  The future legal custody and support of the minor children, the equitable distribution of property and debts, and the dissipation of funds are some of the issues that the divorce Court will address throughout the legal process.In August of 2003, police authorities were called to the Carter residence to investigate domestic violence that was committed against Ms. Carter by her husband, Robert Carter.  Robert Carter was arrested and booked for domestic violence against Ms. Carter.  One month before the separation, Robert Carter was held by the authorities in an institution pursuant to the "Baker Act" to keep from harming himself when he threatened to kill himself to a medical professional.Robert Carter has also been sued for breach of contract and for making libelous statements against Mr. Weisman, Aaron's current day-to-day manager.  That suit against Robert Carter has several counts that state that, among other things, Robert Carter hijacked Aaron from his mother, as co-manager, and from his current day-to-day manager in violation of the management agreement.  "That case, my divorce case, and the domestic violence case are all on track in seeking truth and justice and I want the facts to come out," says Jane.  "Bob can't wait for any facts to come out in Court first.  That's why Bob has released a false statement to the Press.  Bob has had someone release a false statement written as though Aaron had written it," said Jane.  "I feel very sad that Bob has felt that he had to fabricate his press release of December 10, 2003.  Bob's whole Press statement, Bob's attempted unlawful discharge of Mr. Weisman, and Bob's character assassination of me is a desperate attempt to gain sole control of the custody of Aaron, to control the funds of Aaron and therefore to attempt to cover up the funds Bob took," said Ms. Carter.  "I did not want to involve the Press in these unfortunate and very private family issues.  However, since Bob released his irresponsible statement to the Press, I felt that it was necessary to state the facts once that can be confirmed as true rather than make false allegations to the Press as Bob has done designed to embarrass my family, hurt me and my family and hurt my son's career.  I feel confident that the truth and the facts will be disclosed in a Court of Law," said Ms. Carter.  Pop teen Aaron Carter blasts Mom Teen pop star Aaron Carter is cutting off all relations with his mother, Jane, exposing an ugly family battle over money.
